Some Islamic Tips

●It was narrated from Tameem Ad-Daree that the Prophet said,
“The religion is sincerity (Naseehah).” We said, “To whom?” He said, “To Allah, His Book, His Messenger, and to the leaders of the Muslims and their common folk.”
Reference: Sahih Muslim. Book 1, Hadith 103

۞Renew your faith and relation with Allah every morning and night by saying, “I am content with Allah as my Lord, with Muhammad as my Messenger, and with Islam as my religion.”

۞If you wish not to regret doing anything, then do everything for the sake of God.

۞Associate with people so that they commend you during your life and weep for you when you die.

۞If you want to disobey Allah, then go to a place that He does not see you in it.

۞If you started to commit a sin , you should immediately withdraw from this, as your life may end while you are committing this sin. Everyone will be raised in the condition in which he dies.

۞When you hear of an attribute of the believers try to acquire it. And when you hear of an attribute of the infidels try to get rid of it.

۞Watch yourself firmly and judge it for everything, small or great, before Allah brings you to account and uncovers you before creations.

۞Remember Allah frequently in this world, in order that He remembers you on the Day of Resurrection.

۞Be near to the Prophet by doing a deed that he liked, so that he intercedes for you on the Day of Resurrection.

۞The loss is to oppress someone who does not take his right in this world and waits for you on the Day of Resurrection to get your good deeds in his account and enter his sins into your account.

۞Be keen to collect merits as much as possible by sayings as praises (Tasabeeh), remembrance of Allah (Adhkaar), and the Holy Qur'an, or by deeds as prayer, helping others, etc.

۞Review your prayer and fasting and try to improve the quality of their performance.

۞If this world is confined for you and your concerns are a lot, then seek refuge in Allah.

۞All of us will meet the Prophet on the Day of Judgment and he will either make us drink from his watering-place (Hawd), or drive us away.

۞Tongue is the first means to go to Hell. Angels record every word you utter. One word makes you go to Hell, and one word makes you enter Paradise, so do not talk too much.

۞Perhaps you are righteous, but this is not enough. You are obliged to care about your wife and children, guide them, and look after them. Any neglect or shortening makes you go to Hell.

۞Never commend any person whom you know that he is rebellious and disobeys Allah and never attend meetings in which they commend this person to avoid that Allah throws you in Hell.

۞Be always cautious  of death, because if you forget it, it will never forget you.

۞During every funeral you attend, remember that you will be put in the same grave after a period of time.

۞Diseases are not the only way that leads to death. Also accidents and cardiac arrest may cause the death of youth, old people, and children.

۞Do not let good health and wealth deceive you, as fate may hide surprises for you.

۞Every soul will taste death, so do not go to it while you are forced, but expect it at any time.

۞Recognize and acknowledge Allah in times of ease and prosperity, and He will remember you in times of adversity. Seek nearness to Him by good deeds, and He will know you in times of adversity.

When He abandons you, He tries you to know whether you will be content with His judgment and win the reward of the patient, or you will break down, be grieved, and refuse Allah’s judgment.

۞Do not do any deed, except that you ask Allah to accept it. “O our Lord! Accept (this service) from us. Verily, You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.” This applies to both religious deeds and this world deeds.

۞Upon doing anything in this world, mention Allah’s Name and remember Him.
By this way, you will collect so many rewards.

۞When someone advises you, smile and thank him, even if you intend not to follow it.
And if you want to advise someone, advise him when he is alone and advise him gently, as it is in human’s nature to refuse advice.

Some Islamic Guidelines on Sneezing, Yawning, and Sleeping

Some Islamic guidelines on sneezing, yawning, and sleeping

Some Islamic guidelines on sneezing, yawning, and sleeping

Some Islamic guidelines on sneezing, yawning, and sleeping

❶Sneezing and yawning

Sneezing is a violent involuntary movement which shakes the body and may cause epistaxis and burst of arteries, so you should thank God for going through it safely.
But yawning is an involuntary movement which indicates inactivity and laziness, or overeating.

During yawning you should put the back of your right hand or your left palm on your mouth, even if you are during prayer, so that you do not produce a voice that Allah dislikes.

●It was narrated from Abi Hurairah that the Prophet said,
“Allah likes sneezing and dislikes yawning.
When anyone of you sneezes and says, ‘Praise be to Allah (AL Hamdu Lillah), it becomes obligatory upon every Muslim who hears him to respond by saying, ‘May Allah have mercy upon you (Yarhamuka Allah).’

Yawning is from the Devil. When one of you feels like yawning, he should restrain it as much as possible, for the Devil laughs when one of you yawns.”
Reference: Riyad As-Saaliheen. Book 6, Hadith 878 [AL-Bukhari].

●Anas reported: When two men sneezed in the presence of the Prophet , he responded to one with “May Allah have mercy upon you (Yarhamuka Allah) and did not respond to the other.
The latter said to him: “You invoked a blessing on this man but did not do so in my case.”
The Prophet replied, “He praised Allah (i.e., he said: ‘Al-Hamdu Lillah’) but you did not.”
Reference: Riyad As-Saaliheen. Book 6, Hadith 881 [AL-Bukhari and Muslim].

●It was narrated from Abi-Hurairah that the Prophet said,
“If anyone of you sneezes, he should say, ‘Praise be to Allah (AL Hamdu Lillah)’, and his brother or companion should say to him, ‘May Allah have mercy upon you (Yarhamuka Allah)’.
When the latter says, ‘Yarhamuka Allah’, the former should say, ‘May Allah give you guidance and improve your condition (Yahdikum Allah wa Yuslih balakum).’”
Reference: Sahih AL-Bukhari. Book 78, Hadith 248

●Abu-Hurairah reported: When the Prophet sneezed, he used to cover his face with his hands or with his garment and muffle the sound with it.
Reference: Jami' At-Tirmidhi. Book 43, Hadith 2969

Sleeping

Sleeping is one of Allah’s laws, one of His miracles, and one of His favors which are countless. It is of His greatness that He does not die and neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. If man loses sleeping, his body will be destroyed.
Sleeping is the minor death, so when you go to sleep, you should recite the two testimonies, because you may not wake up again.

God says Allah takes the souls at the time of their death, and those that do not die [He takes] during their sleep. Then He keeps those for which He has decreed death and releases the others for specified term. Indeed in that are signs for people who give thought﴿
Chapter of the Crowds. Verse NO 42

And it is He who takes your souls by night and knows what you have committed by day. Then He revives you therein that a specified term may be fulfilled. Then to Him will be your return, then He will inform you about what you used to do﴿
Chapter of the Cattle. Verse NO 60

֍People are sleeping; when they die they get up֎

[1] It is a Sunnah to sleep on your right side.

●It was narrated from Abi-Hurairah that Allah’s Messenger said,
“When anyone of you goes to bed, he should take hold of the hem of his lower garment and then should dust his bed with the help of that and then he should recite Allah’s Name because he does not know what might have come on it after he left it.

When he intends to lie on bed, he should lie on his right side and utter these words, “Exalted are You, my Lord, I have placed my side (upon the bed) by You and I raise it up by You.
If You take my soul, then forgive it. If You release it, then protect it with that with which You protect Your pious servants.”
Reference: Sahih Muslim. Book 48, Hadith 85

●It was narrated from AL-Bara' ibn 'Azib that Allah’s Messenger said, “When you go to bed perform ablution like that for prayer, lie on your right side and say,
‘O Allah, I turn my face towards You and entrust my affair to You. I lay myself down relying upon You, hoping in You and fearing You. There is no refuge nor escape from You except to You. I believe in Your Book which You have revealed, and in Your Prophet whom You have sent.’

Make this as the last words of Yours (when you go to sleep) and in case you die during that night, you will die upon Fitrah (true religion, i.e., Islam).”
Reference: Sahih Muslim. Book 48, Hadith 75

AL-Bara' reported: When Allah’s Messenger went to bed, he said,
“O Allah, it is with Your Name that I live and it is with Your Name that I die.”
And when he got up he used to say, “Praise is due to Allah, Who gave us life after our death (sleep) and to Him is the resurrection.”
Reference: Sahih Muslim. Book 48, Hadith 80

Abu Hurairah reported: Allah’s Apostle ordered me to guard the charity of Ramadan (Zakat AL-Fitr). Someone came to me and started scooping some of the foodstuff with his hands. I caught him and told him that I would take him to Allah’s Apostle.
Then Abu-Hurairah described the whole narration and said, “That person said (to me): ‘Please do not take me to Allah’s Apostle and I will tell you a few words by which Allah will benefit you. When you go to bed, recite Ayat Al-Kursi (2.255) for then there will be a guard from Allah who will protect you all night along, and the Devil will not be able to come near you till dawn.’

When the Prophet heard the story he said to me, ‘He, who came to you at night, told you the truth although he is a liar. And he (the thief) himself was the Devil.’
Reference: Sahih AL-Bukhari. Book 66, Hadith 32

[2] It is disliked to sleep on your belly.

Abu-Hurairah reported: The Messenger of Allah saw a man lying on his stomach, so he said, “Indeed, such lying is not loved by Allah.”

Images and Statues in the Sight of Islam

Images and Statues in the Sight of Islam

Images and Statues

Some matters have spread in Islamic society and people have agreed and shut up about them, although one of these matters is enough to make them go to Hell, even if they pray, fast, or pay charity. These matters are like

Mannequins in clothes stores.
When a man draws a woman or makes a statue for her.

●Sa'id ibn Abi AL-Hasan reported:
While I was with Ibn-'Abbas a man came and said,
“O father of 'Abbas! My sustenance is from my manual profession and I make these pictures.”
Ibn 'Abbas said, “I will tell you only what I heard from Allah’s Messenger . I heard him saying, ‘Whoever makes a picture will be punished by Allah till he puts life in it, and he will never be able to put life in it.’”
Hearing this, that man heaved a sigh and his face turned pale.
Ibn 'Abbas said to him, “What a pity! If you insist on making pictures, I advise you to make pictures of trees and any other unanimated objects.”
Reference: Sahih AL-Bukhari. Book 34, Hadith 172

●'A'ishah reported:
I bought a cushion having pictures on it.
When Allah’s Apostle saw it, he stood at the door and did not enter.
I noticed the sign of disapproval on his face and said, “O Allah’s Apostle! I repent to Allah and His Apostle. What sin have I committed?”
Allah’s Apostle said, “What is this cushion?”
I said, “I have bought it for you so that you may sit on it and recline on it.” Allah’s Apostle said, “The makers of these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them, ‘Give life to what you have created (i.e., these pictures).’”
The Prophet added, “The angels do not enter a house in which there are pictures.”
Reference: Sahih AL-Bukhari. Book 67, Hadith 116

●It was narrated from Abi-Talha that the Messenger of Allah said,
“Angels do not enter a house wherein there is a dog or a picture of a living creature (a human being or an animal).”
Reference: Sahih Al-Bukhari. Book 59, Hadith 36

●It was narrated from 'A'ishah that the Messenger of Allah said,
“The people who will receive the severest punishment on the Day of Resurrection will be those who try to make the like of Allah’s creations.”
Reference: Sahih Al-Bukhari. Book 77, Hadith 170

●Ibn 'Abbas reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah saying,
“Every painter (of human beings or animals) will go to Hell, and for every portrait he has made, there will be appointed one who will punish him in the Hell.”

Reference: Riyad As-Saaliheen. Book 18, Hadith 1680 [AL-Bukhari and Muslim].

Averting suspicions

Some people give legal opinions of their own and say, “The Prophet forbade images and statues in his time lest people worship idols again. But today they will not do so.”

The reply to this is:
1) This interpretation has not been provided in any of the Prophetic traditions, indeed, the prohibition of images and statues is absolute.

2) Do not you see people of weak faith who visit places of statues everywhere, bend in front of statues, and put bouquets of flowers below them?

●It was narrated from Abd-Allah ibn 'Amr ibn AL-'As that the Messenger of Allah said,
“Indeed, Allah does not take away knowledge by snatching it from people, but He takes it away by taking away (the lives of) the scholars till none of the scholars stays alive.
Then people take ignorant ones as their leaders, who, when asked to deliver religious verdicts, will issue them without knowledge.
As a result, they will go astray and lead others astray.”

Women's Clothes in Islam

Women's Clothes in Islam

Women’s clothes

A woman’s clothes should be:
□Covering her body completely.
□Not transparent.
□Not tight and do not describe her body.

God says And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed﴿
Chapter of Light. Verse NO 31

The best prayer for a woman is that she performs at her home.

She should not leave her home except for a necessity.

God says And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance﴿
Chapter of Confederates.Verse NO 33

─ If she went to the mosque or for any other purpose, she should avoid applying perfume, adornment, or crowding with men.

●It was narrated from Abi-Hurairah that Allah’s Messenger said,
“There are two types of people who will be punished in Hell and whom I have not seen: men having whips like the tails of cows and they will be beating people with them,
and women who will be dressed but appear to be naked, inviting to evil.
They themselves will be inclined to it. Their heads will appear like the humps of the camel inclined to one side.
They will not enter Paradise and will not smell its fragrance which is smelt from such and such distance.”
Reference: Riyad As-Saaliheen. Book 18, Hadith 1633 [Muslim]

●It was narrated from Zainab, the wife of Abd-Allah, that the Messenger of Allah said, “When anyone of you comes to the mosque, she should not apply perfume.”

“The best rows for men (in prayer) are the first rows, and the worst ones are the last ones. And the best rows for women are the last ones and the worst ones for them are the first ones.”
Reference: Sahih Muslim. Book 4, Hadith 147

It is not allowed for men to look at women, unless when there is a necessity.

A Muslim walks in the street and sees people whether they are men or women. So, his first look at women is spontaneous and Allah will not take him to account for it.

●Jabir ibn Abd-Allah reported:
I asked the Messenger of Allah about (the Islamic ruling on) accidental glance (i.e., at a woman who is not Islamically allowed to look at) and he ordered me to turn my eyes away.

AL-Fadl ibn 'Abbas was riding behind the Messenger of Allah when a woman from Khath'am tribe came to him to ask him for a legal opinion (Fatwa).
Al-Fadl began to look at her, and she at him. And the Messenger of Allah turned Fadl’s face away to the other side.
The woman said, “Messenger of Allah, Allah’s making the pilgrimage obligatory has come when my father is an old man, unable to stay firmly on his riding-beast. Can I perform pilgrimage for him?”
He said, “Yes.”
This was during the Farewell Pilgrimage.

●Umm Salamah reported: I was with the Messenger of Allah along with Maimunah (May Allah be pleased with her) when Ibn Umm Maktum (who was blind) came to visit him.
This happened after the order to wear Hijab. The Prophet told us to hide ourselves from him (observe Hijab).
We said, “O Messenger of Allah, he is blind and is unable to see us, nor does he know us.”
He replied, “Are you also blind and unable to see him?”
Reference: Riyad As-Saaliheen. Book 18, Hadith 1626 [At-Tirmidhi and Abu-Daoud].
